Corona Awareness and Prevention
As stated by thenewspaper report that the visually impaired living in the Jolarpet area needed help, on 04.04.2020 a bag containing essential items such as laundry detergent, bath soap and toothpaste, biscuits, peanut candy and snacks were handed over to 23 persons. In addition, 3 families from the Northern State who are temporarily residing at Vakkanampatti Government School were provided with groceries including wheat flour for 10 days. During the Corona Awareness work held on 05.04.2020, SRDPS distributed groceries including flour, rice and other essentials for 15 days to three impoverished pregnant women on Hotel Street, opposite to the JolarpetRailway Station. On 06.04.2020, 200 people were provided with drinking water. More than 100 visually impaired people in Jolarpettai and their families, and the general public were provided with Kapasura Kudineer. We extend our hearty thanks to the member of Lions Club friends of Jolarpet who joined their hands with us during the field works. On 18.04.2020 Beneficiaries in the home were provided with “KABASURAK KUDINEER” as a corona prevention measure.
POLIO AWARENESS
In order to create awareness about Polio vaccination, the SRDPS arranged a vehicle rally in collaboration with government doctors and health workers on 31.01.2021. Through his awareness program polio vaccination through polio drops were given at various places by our home staff members.
AWARENESS ON ILLEGAL ADOPTION
The Director of SRDPs conducted a training session on the topic “Awareness on Adoption Procedures and Prevention of Illegal Adoption” for Training Assistant Inspectors. This session was held at the Training Center, Vellore on 22.12.2020.
A training on adoption procedures and illegal adoption was organized by the District Child Protection unit on 24.12.2020 for the Anganwadi workers.
On 22.02.2020 a training session on the topic 'Adoption' was conducted by the Director of SRDPS for the Anganwadi workers of Ranipettai area.
District Children Safety Unit and SRDPS jointly conducted an awareness campaign on Baby Adoption Regulations and prevention of Illegal adoption to Tirupattur District nurses. Many thanks to the special guest of the campaign, Mrs. Priyanka Pankajam, IAS, Tirupattur.
SENSITIZATION WORKSHOPS/ SEMINARS
A two-day seminar was held at SRDPS Office Premises on 22-12-2018 and the participants were active members from the Community Vigilance Groups and Students of Amirtha B.Ed College, Tirpattur, Teachers of Vasanth Nursing Home, Lawyers, Police officers, Panchayat Presidents, VAO’s, NGO representatives, media persons, etc. The topics for the seminars were based on where, why and how women and children are trafficked, who the vulnerable victims are, how to identify the traffickers, where and to whom to report, what are the support services available for the victims of trafficking and so on. Awareness was given using Case studies, video clippings, group discussion and role plays, presentation given to the participants through power point presentation and reading materials.
AWARENESS ON WOMEN AND CHILDREN SEXUAL ABUSES

2019 PARLIMENTARY ELECTION AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
SRDPS with the help of beneficiaries and employees created public awareness about the importance of voting, by distributing leaflets, drawing KOLAM, Human chain formation etc. Primarily, the emphasis was to encourage everyone to cast their vote.
AWARENESS ON ALCOHOL BAD EFFECTS
Street plays and dances were organized at Tirupattur Bus Stand to create awareness among General Public about the adverse effects of alcohol.
SRDPS works for creating awareness to solve various problems that prevails in the society. First, we create awareness about adopting a baby in places like Government and private hospitals, and colleges to avoid abandoned babies specially thrown away in thorn bushes, dustbins, and hospital campuses. We create awareness through pamphlets, stickers and banners. We keep baby cradles in Government and Private Hospitals for abandoned baby’s immediate care.
In UJJAWALA scheme we create awareness in public places like railway stations and bus stands by screening awareness short films and with the use of power point presentations. The awareness campaign focusses on children and women being kidnapped, sexually harassed and trafficked for commercial sex work, sexual exploitation, organ harvest, etc We create community vigilance groups by gathering auto drivers, railway workers, vendors, lawyers, local leaders, doctors to promote awareness to the public with their help.
