Society for Rural Development Promotion Services [SRDPS] was established as an NGO on 03.09.1990 by Mr. Raja PanneerSelvan with the support of like minded colleagues and was registered as a Society under the Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act, 27 of 1975. SRDPS was registered by the Sub Registrar of Tirupattur District and is renewed on yearly basis. SRDPS has completed 32 years of dedicated service to the communities in need under the relentless leadership of Mr. Raja PanneerSelvan. He had successfully managed to lead the NGO under extreme financial crisis. The present SRDPS campus and infrastructure is a monument for his never dying spirit.

The Founder-Director of SRDPS, Tirupattur, Tirupattur District, Mr.Raja PanneerSelvan encountered a massive heart attack which led to his sudden demise on 24th August, 2014 . His unexpected death created an emptiness in the institution that he built for about two decades. His family and friends felt that the institution needs to be handed over to the Government or to a capable NGO.

The target population of SRDPS has expanded significantly under the capable leadership of Mrs.Thamizharasi Raja PanneerSelvan, covering children and women from difficult circumstances, women and children trafficked for commercial exploitation, surrendered and abandoned new born babies and orphaned or discarded children in distress

At that point in time his wife Mrs. Thamizharasi Raja PanneerSelvan volunteered to take the responsibilities and put SRDPS back in track. Within a short span of time, she sorted out the legal hurdles to bring the Society’s affairs under her control with the help of friends and well-wishers. Though All of us at SRDPS miss the inspiring and hardworking founder Mr. Rajapanneer Selvan we pray that God grant him eternal rest.
